Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, to give the town its full "Sunday name" (or "Cham" as its closest friends like to call it), is a vibrant French town known around the world as a charming place to visit in both winter and summer. It borders both Switzerland and Italy. The skyline is dominated by the famous Aiguilles de Chamonix mountain range, which culminates at the summit of Mont Blanc. The first Winter Olympics were held here in 1924.

You can get a glimpse into city life and weather conditions all year round thanks to live webcams dotted around the area, allowing potential visitors to see parts of the city centre with its beautiful, muted buildings as well as some of the mountain and ski resorts it has to offer.

Chamonix doesn't just offer traditional alpine sports. Additionally, it offers incredible amounts of beautiful off-piste terrain. It has also been dubbed Europe's capital of extreme sports. The area hosts numerous events throughout the year, including the Ski World Cup, ice hockey matches, the Chamonix Marathon, the Chamonix Adventure Festival and more.

Like many of the most popular ski resorts, the streets of Chamonix are full of fabulous shops representing both local and international brands. And of course, there's a great après-ski scene that's well worth experiencing during a stay. If you do it right, you'll be as tired from the nights as you are from the slopes!
