Considered one of the most beautiful areas of Gran Canaria, the village of Puerto de Mogán sits proudly in a valley on the south-west coast. Over the years it has been affectionately known as the "Little Venice of the Canaries" thanks to the canals that connect the marina to the fishing port (with an Italian-style footbridge) and the traffic-free town centre. Less than an hour's drive from Las Palmas, day trips to the island's capital are a breeze.

As part of the Canary Islands, Gran Canaria and Puerto de Mogán enjoy fantastic weather all year round - temperatures typically reach highs of around 28 degrees Celsius in mid-summer, dropping only slightly to around 21 degrees in the winter months.

Many of the hotels and apartments in Puerto de Mogán are relatively low-rise and have something to suit every traveller - from families looking for affordable accommodation to luxury properties with spa facilities. The resort's restaurants also have something for everyone - from traditional Canarian and Spanish cuisine to freshly caught seafood (which in some cases is served from fishing boats anchored just metres from your table!) to international offerings such as Italian, German and Indian cuisine.

Despite the beauty of the place, the beach is the flagship of Puerto de Mogán. The wide sandy beach, lined with a lively promenade and protected by the surrounding cliffs, is one of the most popular with tourists.
