Tulum is a pre-Columbian Mayan walled city that combines ancient ruins with the tropical charm of a Caribbean beach resort. You can visit the ancient ruins above the coast, which are great to explore on foot or by bike.

Tulum may be a little less commercial than its neighbor Cancun, but it still knows how to throw a damn good party. It's considered to have some of the best nightlife in Mexico. Full moon parties are held on the beach, with music playing in lively bars and outdoor terraces with stunning views at sunset. Add a frozen margarita or two and that sounds like a pretty good time!

A trip to Tulum is not complete without visiting one of the cenotes (pronounced she-no-tays); cavernous sinkholes that open into underwater worlds of crystal-clear lagoons and hidden passages. There are a wide variety to choose from within close proximity to the resort - from open (fully exposed, like a tropical lake), semi-open (underground with ceiling opening) to underground with. Swimming in the cool waters surrounded by vegetation and rock formations is a unique and beautiful experience.

We chose the beautiful beach as the focal point of our Tulum design. With its sugar white sand, dramatic rocky landscape and just a dash of palm trees, it is everything you would expect and expect from a Caribbean beach.
